WELCOME TO MY FRENCH COUNTRY BROCANTE

"Chiner" is the French verb for hunting for special bits and pieces in brocantes and antique fairs. It's something I love to do here in Normandy. I "chine" with friends, with family and sometimes on my own. I love the thrill of the hunt, never knowing what I'm going to find. Sometimes I come home "bredouille", with an empty basket, but that's pretty rare. Even the most unpromising yard sale has something just waiting to be discovered.

exceptional blue and white brulot with saucer




It is very unusal to find these 100 year old brulots with their original saucer, especially as beautifully decorated as this one.  Porcelaine de Bayeux, with its typical deep blue on white glaze.  A sweet heart motif running around the cup and on the saucer.
